Water System Routine Chlorine Testing


Daily:

    Test and record readings at https://mingus.waterapp.us


  1. Test inlet of water tower using hose in chlorine room.

    Turn the water on at the faucet (Make sure the hose end valve is off ) and place the hose outside the door, turn the hose valve on and let it run for at least 3 minutes.

    Test and record reading.

  2. Test a random site in town.

    Test at least 3 different areas each week.

    1 on the North Side (Hydrant at the Cantina)

    1 on the South Side (Bjs faucet in the back of the building)

    1 in the middle

    Let the water run at the test site for at least 5 minutes.


If tests come back outside of normal guidelines on the inlet at the tower.

(Between .5 and 4 Free Chlorine) notify Vinny Huckaba (254) 672-5995 x2


If Vinny is not available, contact Strawn and let them know the levels are not within limits.


Monthly: (First of the month)


  1. BACT Samples

  2. Visually Inspect Water Tower grounds and equipment. Check generator for green light.

  3. Record chlorine and ammonia levels with a black marker on the drum.

  4. Check reagent supply.

  5. Flush dead end lines. (Only Summer months unless otherwise needed.)

  6. 108 & Cemetery Rd.

  7. Behind City Hall on Bearden Lane (East of Milo)

  8. Harrison & Cemetery Rd. (Fire Hydrant, check if county filled truck recently.)

  1. Print testing and flushing reports, file at City Hall.


Quartlery:


  1. Verify test equipment. (Strawn or Gordon has standards for testing.)
